Treatex Exterior Oil Dun| 2.5 L
If you’re in the market for a high-quality decking oil, wooden door oil or cladding oill, look no further than Treatex Exterior Oils. Our water repellant oil penetrates through timber surfaces, attaching to the wood capillaries and providing robust protection against the elements and preventing the formation of cracks and swelling. Resistant to harsh weather conditions, UV light and water, Treatex Exterior Oils is the ideal wooden door finish or cladding oil for your outdoor furniture or surface.
-Easy to apply
-UV resistant (excluding Clear)
-Highly water resistant
-Contains no biocides or preservatives
-Safe for use on children's toys
-Can be finished with Treatex Anti Slip Decking Oil or Treatex UV Oil
-Sheer is a lightly tinted clear finish with UV inhibitors
-Exterior Oil colours can be overcoated with Exterior Oils Clear for extra wear protection
-‘Clear’ is not a UV protective finish and timbers treated only with Clear will break down and bleach in sunlight much quicker than any of the other options in the range. Clear should only be used to overcoat one of the colour options in the Exterior Oils range. For a near clear finish with UV protection, please use ‘Sheer’ or for the best protection, use one of our more pigmented options.

2.5L will cover approximately 37m² in one coat depending on the timber and method of application*
*Rough sawn timber can potentially increase consumption by a factor of 2 to 3.
This product works best on unfinished timber. Exotic and pressure treated timbers should be allowed to weather for approximately 3 months before finishing. Previously porous finishes should be thoroughly cleaned or lightly sanded with all flaking and peeling removed before application. Ensure the surface is dry and free from any contaminants. Make sure you buy sufficient product to complete the whole project and mix multiple tins together before use to achieve the same finish.
If you find decay, mould or fungi, this should be treated first with Treatex Preservative. Exterior timbers with high tannin levels should be treated with Treatex Stain Inhibitor. Timber must have a moisture content below 18% and the temperature should be between 8 and 24 degrees celsius during application and drying.
-Make sure the tin/tins are stirred thoroughly before and during use.
-Use a brush or roller to evenly apply the Treatex Exterior Oils, moving in the same direction as the wood grain. If possible apply the first coat to all sides of the wood before installation, paying particular attention to any end grain. Apply liberally on the end grain to fully seal.
-After 12 hours of drying, a second coat can be applied. After this coat, leave for approximately 12-24 hours to dry. Don’t apply too thickly.
-For decking, we recommend applying Treatex Anti-Slip decking oil.
-To increase the slip resistance of decking after applying Exterior Oils : Anti Slip Decking Oil
-To add a clear, UV protective coat with a high surface build (not suitable for decking): UV Oil
-Treatex brushes and rollers are available.
-Wet brushes and rollers can be cleaned with Treatex Thinner or white spirit.
-Store tins in a cool and frost free environment. Unopened tins will last for five years. Once tins are opened, transfer contents to a smaller airtight container.
